Can we encourage as many as possible to sign and/or organise petitions - and if possible to attend the "Day of Action" at the Carmarthen Guildhall on Saturday 30th August at 10am.

If the TTIP goes ahead, as is being discreetly negotiated at present, it will make billions for the US global corporations and ruin our society, economy and environment in the process.

Fracking lobby needed now

Please write to your MP to get the fracking go ahead reversed. Here is what I wrote to Roger Williams MP: feel free to copy and adapt this template letter. You will need to put your full address at the bottom of your letter.
Dear Mr Williams
I am very disappointed by the news this week that the government is to allow fracking in the UK. I am therefore writing to ask that you urge this government to cancel all plans to allow more shale gas exploration or extraction to take place in the UK. Shale gas has already caused two earthquakes in Blackpool UK. In addition,  the Environment Protection Agency in the U.S.A has connected “fracking” to water contamination. Benzene, which is known to cause cancer, methane, which of course is even more environmentally dangerous than carbon dioxide, synthetic glycol and alcohol have been found in the ground and in drinking wells in the United States after fracking has taken place.

Is your site a great demonstration of Permaculture in practice? Would you like to learn more about how you can use Permaculture to develop your site and project? If the answer to any of these questions is "Yes", the Permaculture Wales Working Group would love to hear from you.

Russian abundance model could feed the world

Russia's Private Garden Plot Act, which was signed into law back in 2003, entitles every Russian citizen to a private plot of land, free of charge, ranging in size from 2.2 acres to 6.8 acres. Each plot can be used for growing food, or for simply vacationing or relaxing, and the government has agreed not to tax this land. The result of this effort has been phenomenal, as Russian families collectively grow practically all the food they need.
