  • TRANSATLANTIC TRADE & INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP petition

    Can we encourage as many as possible to sign and/or organise petitions - and if possible to attend the "Day of Action" at the Carmarthen Guildhall on Saturday 30th August at 10am.

    If the TTIP goes ahead, as is being discreetly negotiated at present, it will make billions for the US global corporations and ruin our society, economy and environment in the process.

  • The 2014 Spring Greens Fair

     

    Bigger, better, bursting with good things green, but still intimate and charming...the 2014 Spring Greens Fair is back this weekend, 3/4 May at the wonderful Court of Noke, Staunton on Arrow. Mid Wales Permaculture Network will be there, of course (perennial forest garden plants for sale and adopt-a-plant with free plants for children. This year there will be even more wonderful food, activities, forum discussions, demonstrations, crafts, performace... see it all here:

Upcoming FCFCG programme

Mid Wales Regional Gathering, 20 October, Newtown

 

This years Mid Wales Gathering will be held in partnership with 'Cultivate' Cwm Harry's new food venture, in Newtown Powys. Cwm Harry is a pioneering local food project working in a variety of areas from food waste recycling to local food production and distribution. The day will be action packed including an informative update from FCFCG about the Tyfu Pobl programme, a variety of presentations from inspiring FCFCG local member projects, a chance for you to share information about your own growing project as well as hearing what other people in your local area have been up to, a tour of Cwm Harry's diverse and multifunctional site, an update from Cwm Harry's Project Coordinator about the projects they're involved as well as their future future plans, not to mention a choice of practical and informative workshops led by members of Cwm Harry's dedicated team. Project management and good governance training, 26 October, Y Plas, Machynlleth

 

The project management and good governance event, will be held in partnership with Powys Association of Voluntary Organisation (PAVO).This event will help you to understand and appreciate the value of both project management and good governance in a community garden environment. During the day we will aim to introduce the various skills required to run a successful community project covering several topics including organisational legal structures, the practicalities of project management, the roles and responsibilities of committee members and community decision making. This event is free to members of FCFCG with a £10 charge to non-member community growing projects and a £50 charge to other organisations. If you are interested in setting up a community growing project, would like to know how to run the project that you are involved with more effectively, or would like tips on project management and governance best practice, then this training event is for you.
