If the TTIP goes ahead, as is being discreetly negotiated at present, it will make billions for the US global corporations and ruin our society, economy and environment in the process.

On Safari in Llandeilo

Eco-Homes Safari 24th and 25th March

Transition Town Llandeilo is organising two Eco-Homes Safari tours visiting energy-efficient homes in and around the Towy Valley.   This is your chance to come and see how a variety of properties have been renovated or constructed to minimise their carbon footprint and their running costs.  The owners of the homes on each tour will explain the measures they’ve taken and how their energy use has changed.  They will say what has worked well and what, in hindsight, they might do differently.

A wide range of techniques and technologies will be seen, including many types of insulation and glazing, solar thermal systems, photovoltaic arrays, thermal stores, wood or pellet boilers and stoves, ground source heat pumps, ‘passivhaus’ construction, rainwater harvesting, microhydro generation and LED lighting.  An ‘eco-expert’ will lead each tour and will be able to offer advice on the current availability of grants, feed-in tariffs and how to select the most appropriate technologies.

The tour on Saturday 24th March will cover the area to the West and South of Llandeilo.  Sunday’s tour will be mostly to the North and East of Llandeilo.  The safari will start at 9.30am and finish about 5.30pm on both days.  We will travel by minibus between the properties. Please bring a picnic lunch.  Hot drinks will be available.

A deposit of £5.00 per person is required to reserve a place on the tour.  Please contact John Gaffney on 01550 740655 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or see for more details.
