  • The 2014 Spring Greens Fair


    Bigger, better, bursting with good things green, but still intimate and charming...the 2014 Spring Greens Fair is back this weekend, 3/4 May at the wonderful Court of Noke, Staunton on Arrow. Mid Wales Permaculture Network will be there, of course (perennial forest garden plants for sale and adopt-a-plant with free plants for children. This year there will be even more wonderful food, activities, forum discussions, demonstrations, crafts, performace... see it all here:

Scything courses at Dyfed Permaculture Farm Trust

Scythe Courses 2012

The Scythe is the ideal tool for the garden or smallholding.

It is versatile, green and fun to use!

The following courses are being held on the wildflower meadows of Dyfed Permaculture Farm Trust in South West Wales, led by experienced mower and Scythe teacher Philip Batten.

Philip was taught to scythe by the renowned scythe master, Peter Vido at the first West Country Scythe Festival in 2005. Since then, the scythe has become an indispensable tool. Philip has won medals for the quality of his scything and now teaches at the festival as well as at the Trust.

Introductory Scythe Courses

All you need to know to get you started using a scythe!

The course will look at set up, mowing techniques, sharpening and peening. Learn how to mow a lawn, cut a hay meadow, control brambles and scrub and much more. All equipment provided.

A great introduction before you buy your first scythe.
